Stagg Motor Sports organizes races across the ASCS Frontier Region.
A Passion for Racing
Josh Stagg grew up watching sprint car racing with his dad at the West Capital Speedway in Sacramento, California in the 1970s. He loved the smell of methanol and the sounds of the drivers revving their engines. There, the driver to watch was Jimmy “Buckwheat” Sills.
His memories at the Speedway stayed with him, and in 2014, Stagg turned his passion into a business when he launched Stagg Motor Sports: School of Open Wheel Racing. It was only natural that he hired his childhood favorite – Sills – to be the instructor.
After selling the school in 2016, Stagg stayed involved with racing and became the American Sprint Car Series Frontier Region series director in 2020, organizing sprint car races in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana for 30 teams per season.
